My Coaching Journey 🏋🏻♀️
From "Train Until You Can't Walk"
to Coaching for
Long-Term Results
Every birthday makes you stop and think.
I hit Chapter 36 on 6th June, and like most people, I found myself reflecting on everything that's happened over the years.
Not just personally, but professionally.
I also love writing these kinds of posts because they're real.
Better than reading the same AI-generated captions everyone seems to be churning out these days.
How My Coaching Career Started
When I first became a personal trainer, I genuinely believed the best sessions were the ones that left people unable to walk.
Who remembers one of my leg days? 👀🤣
Back then, I thought if clients weren't crawling out of the gym, I'd failed as a coach.
It wasn't about being cruel, it was simply what the fitness industry taught us.
Train harder.
Push more.
No pain, no gain.
Thankfully, coaching has taught me that there's a much better way.
Coaching Isn't About Destroying People
Over the years I've coached hundreds of people, and one thing has become crystal clear:
Progress doesn't come from being destroyed every session.
It comes from consistency.
The best training programme isn't the one that leaves you crippled for four days.
It's the one you can recover from, repeat, and progressively improve over weeks, months and years.
Whether your goal is fat loss, building muscle, or simply becoming healthier, your training should support your life, not take over it.
From In-Person Personal Training to Online Coaching
My business has changed massively.
I started as an in-person personal trainer, coaching clients face-to-face in the gym.
Now I work primarily as an online coach, supporting clients wherever they are.
While the delivery has changed, my mission hasn't.
I still want every person I coach to feel supported, educated and confident enough to maintain their results long after they've finished working with me.
Because coaching isn't about making people dependent.
It's about giving them the tools to succeed on their own.
The Fitness Industry Has Changed Too
The fitness industry is louder than it's ever been.
Every day there's another argument.
Another controversial opinion.
Another creator chasing clicks with rage bait.
I'll admit...
Sometimes I'm a little nibbler too. 🎣🤣
But the reality is that social media often rewards outrage more than education.
The loudest voice isn't always the most knowledgeable one.
Why Relationships Matter More Than Viral Content
One thing I'll never compromise on is the relationships I build with my clients.
People don't just come to me for a workout programme.
They come because they want guidance.
They want accountability.
They want someone who's invested in their success.
I care deeply about the people I coach.
Watching someone improve their confidence, health, strength and mindset will always mean more to me than chasing likes or going viral.
Coaching Is About Leaving People Better Than You Found Them
If someone finishes coaching with me, I don't just want them to have lost weight.
I want them to:
Understand nutrition.
Build sustainable habits.
Feel confident training independently.
Have a healthier relationship with food.
Know how to maintain their results.
Believe in themselves again.
Because that's what changes lives.
Not another 30-day challenge.
Not another detox.
Not another quick fix.
Looking Ahead
I'm proud of the coach I've become.
I've made mistakes.
I've learned.
I've evolved.
And I'll continue to.
Because the moment you think you know everything is the moment you stop growing.
So here's to continuing to learn, continuing to care, and continuing to help people become healthier, stronger and more confident.
Let's keep the standards high.
